Last week was Teacher Appreciation Week, one of our favorite weeks of the year at The Sunshine House.
This year’s TAW was different. Our normal TAW celebrations with cupcakes, costumes and contests have been a bit limited. We hope you still enjoyed it, even with some of these modifications.
But I’d like to look at the bigger picture for a moment.
Is it a coincidence that the first day of Teacher Appreciation Week was also International Firefighters Day? Or that National Nurses Week also began this week? Or that Sunday marked the annual day of tribute to Mothers everywhere? Perhaps next year, the first week of May will be renamed “Heroes Week,” where we collectively honor all of the heroes in our lives.
Meanwhile, why limit ourselves to just one day or week of showing appreciation for our heroes? Let’s vow now to remind them every day how much they mean to us! Starting today!
