- Meet Our Director
Meet Our Director, Abena Olenja
My name is Abena Olenja. I've had the opportunity to work with children and families in numerous settings! I was previously a 4K Teacher with South Carolina First Steps program, an Afterschool Teacher, a founder of a non-profit called On Times Events, Office Manager at a private mental health company, and an Assistant Director & Director with The Sunshine House. It is with great pleasure that I serve as the Director of The Sunshine House on White Horse Road.
I love watching children develop and realize their full potential. And I love assisting families. I'm currently pursuing my degree in Early Childhood Education and Psychology.
I look forward to meeting you!
- Meet Our Assistant Director
Meet Our Assistant Director, Sandra DeWeese
Hi, my name is Sandra DeWeese. I am the Assistant Director at Center #17. I have been with Sunshine House two years in February. I have an Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education and have been in the childcare field for over 21 years. I can’t see myself being anywhere other than in childcare. I love to see children learn and grow throughout their early years.
When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my two wonderful grandchildren. I have three children who are grown but will always be my babies. So, work or not, I seem to surround myself with children.
