Meet Our Director, Rochelsa Burson
Hi, my name is Rochelsa Burson, and I am a native of South Carolina. I attended USC Sumter and Central Carolina Technical College. I have twenty-seven years of experience in Early Childhood Education. I’ve worked as an Instructional Assistant for ten years: nine years in Sumter School District and one year in Richland.Â
I am the mother of two adult sons, one teenage daughter, and the grandmother of one grandson. Outside of work I enjoy family time, shopping, thrifting, decorating, and traveling.
I am a true believer in early education, and I believe learning begins in the womb. “The first five years have everything to do with how the next 80 turn out.”- Bill GatesÂ
I am so excited to serve as the Center Director and to be a part of the Sunshine House team. Â
Meet Our Assistant Director, Yeiszmen Johnson
Hello! My name is Yeiszmen Johnson. I have 19 years of experience as a child development educator and three years of experience as a child development administrator. I obtained my bachelor’s degree in psychology, and I will receive my master’s in Higher Education Administration in December of 2024.
In my spare time, I enjoy making new memories with my family and friends, indulging in tasty foods, listening to music, reading, and volunteering on the weekends.Â
The prospect of continuous learning in this role excites me immensely. The opportunity to influence young minds and contribute to their development is incredibly fulfilling. I can’t wait to collaborate with educators and families to create a nurturing environment where children can thrive.
