Hello! My name is Connie Wilkins-Ruff and I am happy to be the Center Director in Greeley. I have been Director Qualified through the State of Colorado since 1999. I began working at Sunshine House in July of 2014. I have been an Early Childhood Educator since 1980. I am so pleased to see the advocacy successes and improvements in the early education field with our earliest learners. I am currently completing my secondary education and working towards my master’s degree at Rasmussen College.
Child Psychologist, Jean Piaget said that the goal of education is not to increase the amount of knowledge, but to create the possibilities for a child to invent and discover, to create one who is able to do new things! Education is an on-going process, and it is exciting to be involved in leadership with the great team at the Sunshine House.
I am a proud mother of three adult sons, and I add ownership to a marvelous daughter-in-law. My three-year-old grand daughter is a complete joy in our lives. We look forward to, the soon to be, birth of her brother! I love to travel, sew, scrapbook, and play at the lake! Most of all, the highlight of life is spending time with my family and being together. It is refreshing that our job at Sunshine House is just “child’s play”!
I love the teachers in the Infant classroom. They are so caring and attentive to the children. All the teachers know the children so well and respond to them so quickly, it's like they know them as well as they know their own children.
I have 2 kids that attend here and have for about 2 years and we love it here. My kids are ages 8 & 7 and attend the summer program and after school program. They go on some great field trips during the summer! The teachers show compassion for each and every kid.
Both of our daughters have attended The Sunshine House since they were 6 months old. The faculty and administration are attentive, knowledgeable, and responsive to our needs as a family. This is more than a daycare, it is preschool from day one. Children get a huge head start by attending, and will enter kindergarten with social skills and academic abilities beyond what you'll find elsewhere with this kind of program.
